An elaborate fabrication project for my first year final in watchmaking school.

This project tasked us with designing and manufacturing a working model of a wheel with pinion driving another wheel. It incorporated both reversible and non-reversible joining techniques, bushing manufacture, and multiple finishing techniques.

I chose to create my bushing of purple acrylic (one jewel was supplied). My pillars were knurled, riveted to the bottom plate, and held the top plate on with taper pins. The inside of the plates were straight line finished and the outside gravel finished.
